President: Dwight M. Cannon (’25)
Currently living in the Chicago area, Dwight has lived at both ends of Route 66, having started life in the Los Angeles area – he also lived directly on Route 66 for a time in Joplin, Missouri. His first adventures on Route 66 were in his childhood, traveling to visit his grandparents on their farm in Missouri, well before the interstates appeared. Dwight originally joined the Association in 1990, this time around he became more active, concerned with keeping this important part of our culture around for all to learn from.
Dwight also represents the Association as a member of the Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership and various online groups. He can be reached via the form available by clicking on his name.

He has over a decade of experience in finance and accounting and volunteers as Treasurer. In travels for work, he’s been to multiple spots along Route 66 in 5 of the 8 states it runs through and looks forward to traveling the entire route with his family in 2026 for the Centennial Celebration.
Recording Secretary: Emmy Bates (’25)
Emmy lives in Dolton, IL. Her association with Rt. 66 started with both of her grandfathers being veterinarians on Rt.66 (1 in Odell and 1 in Normal).
