On the Passing of Duke Cartwright

It is with deep sympathy that we report the death of a longtime and good friend of the Association, Donald (Duke) Cartwright on October 4, 2020. Duke and his wife, Vada, have been Association members since 1989. He served as our Finance Chairman, overseeing our group’s coffers, for 22 years.

Duke was as special to our Association as it was to him. He went on every Motor Tour – never missed one – and frequently arranged for the tour to pass through the gates of Joliet Prison, from where he retired as a Major.

Duke leaves a legacy of integrity, authority and generosity of spirit that we who knew him will remember always.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones for the loss of this gentle giant of a man. May his memory serve as comfort to you.
