Stoney’s Service
A member of the Association Hall of Fame, this structure still stands on West Street between Tremont and Hamilton.
Subway Tunnel
Built in 1937, this was meant to allow people to get from one side of US 66 to the other, especially school children. It was in use until 1944, when the second bypass, completely avoiding Odell, was put in service. The subway itself was filled in in 1947, but the top of the stairs leading to the subway entrance on the east side of the roadway was excavated, along with the placement of signage, with the assistance of the Preservation Committee.
Trecker’s Sinclair and the Village Inn
These two unrelated businesses, now vacant lots, existed in the space between the St. Paul’s School and the historic Standard Station. Odell was at one time home to many service stations and restaurants.
Standard Station
Rescued by the Association’s Preservation Committee, this 1932 structure is now owned by Odell and is an outstanding photo op. The station also contains a gift shop. A member of the Association Hall of Fame, as well as being listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
