Happy 85th Birthday, Route 66!

Date:
Friday, November 11, 2011 (All day)

Please, stop for a moment to reflect on this day: 85 years ago, on November 11, 1926, Route 66 became an official U.S. Highway and continued as such for 49 years.

Although she's now considered a "Historic" road, we still appreciate her contributions to America and all that she, the Mother Road, stands for.

On this, her 85th birthday, we vow to continue our mission to "Preserve, Educate, Promote and Enjoy Route 66" here in Illinois and all along her nostalgic miles to California.

Viva, Route 66!
