Joliet Area Historical Museum / Route 66 Welcome Center

“End of Prohibition” Craft Beer Tasting Event.

In 1933, the 18th amendment prohibiting the sale of alcohol was repealed and good times started to flow once again in Joliet. Come and hear Joliet brewery historian and collector, John Bitterman talk about Joliet breweries, post-prohibition through the close of the last Joliet brewery in 1958. Mr. Bitterman will also be displaying a portion of his vast Joliet Brewery Collection.

Taste your favorite – or some new Craft Beers from the 13 different Craft Brewers that will be on hand for beer tasting. They’ll answer all of your about beer and more. We will have raffles, prizes, food & beverage for all guests for only $8.00 for Museum members or $10.00 for non-members.

Advance registration is strongly encouraged for this program and can be made by going on-line at www.jolietmuseum.org, calling Kim at 815-723-5201 ext. 235, or by visiting the Gift Shop located in the Museum.
