The city of Girard has asked us to participate in their Pumpkin Chunking contest! All interested members who would like to help build a pumpkin cannon, onager or trebuchet ???? please let me know (cathiesb@earthlink.net). I’ve been looking at some of these contests on the internet and had no idea how HUGE some of these machines were. If you like challenges – this is it!!!!
If we can’t build a machine to enter into their contest, we can still participate in their Pumpkin Festival!!!

Touch-up paint work at the Meramec Cavern advertising on the Barn in Cayuga, Illinois (just north of Pontiac).

If you’ve never volunteered to help out on a Preservation project, you are missing a lot of fun.
For this project we’ll need help with the horses that live on the farm, so if you’re good with either a brush or a horse, we need you!
Our Association’s annual elections will be held at the Route 66 Association Hall of Fame and Museum on Sunday, October 19th
10:30 to Noon - Board Meeting
Noon to 1 PM - Lunch Break (on your own)
1 PM - General Meeting and Elections
