Walldogs Announce “Mystery Mural”
Press Release from the City of Pontiac, Illinois:
At a organizational meeting Wednesday evening, a new addition to the 17 murals already planned for downtown Pontiac was announced. The over 160 artists due in town June 25, 26, 27, and 28, have indicated that they will be painting one more mural, bringing the total to 18. The theme of the added mural is not being announced. The design for the mystery mural was created by Joe Diaz, son of Bill and Jane Diaz, and part of the Diaz Sign Art team.
Like all of the murals planned, the bonus mural will depict some aspect of Pontiac’s cultural, commercial, or political past. The location of the added mural is being kept secret also. According to City Administrator, Robert Karls, “The few people who know what is being planned for this new mural have been sworn to secrecy. However, the public can rest assured that this latest addition to the whole Summer Bash festival will be fantastic, and will only add to the magic of the downtown mural collection.”
