Illinois Attractions & Towns

Visit these attractions and towns along Route 66 in Illinois for a nostalgic family fun!

Illinois is where Route 66 began - right in Chicago, in fact. Route 66 meanders in a southwesterly direction through the state until it reaches the Chain of Rocks Bridge where it kisses our neighbor Route 66 state of Missouri. The state of Illinois, our Association, the Route 66 towns and the attractions along the road have a rich history and endless hospitality to share with you.

We are proud of every one of our 398 miles of Mother Road, dozens of communities and attractions galore! We cordially invite you to explore our list of towns, attractions and maps to plan a nostalgic and memorable trip along the Mother Road!
