Travel Route 66 in 2,448 Minutes
We were so excited to first read about this exciting web site in the official Route 66 Association of Illinois Newsletter, The 66 News, that we wanted to share it here as well! AARP, in an attempt to encourage us all to be more active, has begun a web site which offers a virtual trip along Route 66.
Basically it puts a fun Route 66 face on an activity tracker. You record the minutes you spend exercising on the site - each minute of activity equals one mile along the road. Your "vehicle" represents your progress along all 2,448 miles of the Mother Road from Chicago to Santa Monica. It even provides interesting facts about all the towns and attractions along the way!
Here's how it works:
Go to www.aarp.getfitonroute66.com
Register for free.
Choose your "vehicle."
Engage in your chosen exercise.
Log your activity minutes.
Watch your vehicle progress along Route 66!
How fun! What a great way to stay motivated to get that activity we all need! Where will you end up tomorrow? Log your minutes and find out!
