The President's View - September 2009

Greetings from the road!

Our 20th Anniversary Motor Tour started out in the rain but by our first passport stop it was sun, sun, sun. Huge thanks to all our officers and board members who made this year's tour so special. Each board member was responsible for activities in their county and worked hard to make their county shine. The Hall of Fame dinner at the Crowne Plaza had a record number of Hall of Fame member responses and we welcomed the Crossroads Diner, Statesville Prison, The Mill in Lincoln and Sprague's Super Service into our Hall of Fame.

This Web Site Can Spread Route 66 Enthusiasm Around the World!

Hello, Route 66 Enthusiasts - Editor Gina here with some thoughts about your web site.

It was my privilege and pleasure to attend a general meeting of the Route 66 Association of Illinois Association on July 12. I came with my husband, Scott (the web site administrator), to report on the amazing growth this web site has undergone recently. You all share the credit for that for your loyal and regular submissions of information, events and photos for us to post. We also had our ears open for your feedback about the web site. After all, as Scott said during his presentation, "It's YOUR web site and it should reflect all that this association is."
